Fall Cleaning, It’s A Thing!

fall home decor

We have been outside as much as possible this summer enjoying the summer weather. So if you’re anything like us, you’ve put aside organizing and deep cleaning since last spring’s quarantine….

Now that the weather is turning cooler, it’s time once again to think about organizing our living spaces to get ready for more time indoors. Fall is the perfect time to deep clean your home for the new season. We like to pick one area a day to really do that space justice with deep, thorough cleaning. Every little bit counts!

We started our Fall Cleaning with our windows. They were full of cobwebs and summer dust and grime. Here are some tested tips and tricks to get those windows shiny and squeaky clean again.

Wash All Window, Window Sills and Window Groves

Use plant based glass cleaner and for extra cobb webby panes, use a squirt of dish soap in a spray bottle filled with water and wipe down with a microfiber cloth. Don’t forget to remove and wash those screens, too. The essential oils will leave you feeling energized and ready to do fun Fall things! Pick a cloudy day so you can better see the streaks and put on a great book on tape to listen to. Nothing feels better than a morning of mindful cleaning!

If window coverings are dirty, check labels for cleaning instructions.

Some cotton, polyester, rayon and wool drapes can be machine washed on the delicate cycle. You’ll want to use an extra gentle Plant Based, USDA-Certified Organic Delicate Wash as well. Always send lace, linen, silk and satin window treatments, drapes and shades of these materials to a professional cleaner.

Don’t forget to wipe down walls. Dust, wash, rinse, dry painted or wood paneled walls.
